19-year-old Pradeep Mehra, a native of the Almora district of Uttarakhand, has become a sensation on Twitter. Working in a restaurant in Noida Sector 16, he takes a run of about 10 km to his workplace as part of his preparations for recruitment in the Indian Army.

The spirit of patriotism and the passion for service to the motherland roars high in the youths of India. Whenever it comes to serving the motherland, the youths, despite lack of resources, leave no opportunity.

A video of this youth, Pradeep Mehra, is making rounds on Twitter and is creating flutters on social media. About 3 lakh people have seen his video, over 1.25 lakh have liked it and thousands have shared it. Pradeep’s hall of fame started on the night of March 19 when noted filmmaker Vinod Kapri noticed him running on the streets of Noida at around 12 o’clock.

Kapri slowed down his car and offered him a lift. But Pradeep refused. After talking for a while to Pradeep & making a video, Kapri shared it on Twitter and now everyone is saluting Pradeep for his commitment to his mother & his passion to join the Indian Army.

In the video, Pradeep describes his daily routine. He works in a fast-food restaurant in Noida Sector 16. His shift ends at 11 pm after which he goes back to his house in Barola every day running 10 km. This is a part of his preparation to join the Indian Army.

On reaching home, Pradeep cooks food for himself and his brother who does a night shift at a private company. Their mother is admitted to a hospital and the brothers are working tirelessly to make the ends meet.

Kapri is also seen offering a lift to Pradeep to which he gently refuses, saying that it will hamper his preparations.

As soon as Kapri posted the video on Twitter, it went viral and people started praising his commitment and passion. From people like cricketer Harbhajan Singh to union minister Rajiv Chandrashekhar and lakhs of commoners, everyone is saluting and appreciating Pradeep.
